Stocks closed higher on Thursday as market sentiment responded positively to the Federal Reserve’s indication of potential rate cuts, following the central bank’s decision to maintain steady interest rates. The Fed’s suggestions of rate cuts in 2024 pushed the yield on benchmark 10-year Treasury notes below 4% for the first time since July.
