In Thursday’s trading session, stocks demonstrated resilience, propelling the S&P 500 towards its eighth consecutive week of positive momentum.

The benchmark S&P 500 index witnessed a commendable 1% surge, mirroring the market’s overall strength. Meanwhile, the tech-focused Nasdaq Composite posted a robust 1.3% gain, underscoring the continued dominance of technology stocks. The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average also exhibited a solid performance, notching a 0.9% increase equivalent to approximately 322 points. Impressively, all three major indexes have shown upward movement throughout the week.
Within the S&P 500, all 11 sectors closed higher on Thursday, showcasing the broad-based nature of the market rally. Consumer-discretionary stocks emerged as the top performers, enjoying a 1.52% rise, while utilities, albeit the day’s laggard, still managed a modest gain of 0.18%.
Remarkably, the market’s upward trajectory persists, with the S&P 500 now boasting a remarkable 30% gain from its low point in October 2022, indicative of a sustained bullish trend.
