Unusual Activity Report

This daily report focuses on three key components that can lead to market momentum: unusual options activity, insider buying, and institutional sponsorship. By scanning for these signals each day, we uncover potential stock movements driven by notable trades, insider transactions, and institutional investments. Using advanced algorithms and proprietary research methods, we sift through vast amounts of data to identify unique opportunities, offering timely insights highlighting emerging market momentum.

Standout Options Trades

This section highlights notable options trades reflecting significant sentiment—bullish, bearish, or mixed—characterized by high-dollar-value transactions or large trade sizes exceeding prior open interest. When open interest rises from the previous day, it often indicates the creation of new positions rather than the closing of existing ones, suggesting a fresh outlook on the underlying stock or ETF.

For instance, call buying generally signals an expectation of upward movement, while selling calls suggest the trader anticipates the price will stay below a certain level. Put selling reflects confidence that the price will hold above the strike, implying stability. In contrast, put buying may reveal a bearish outlook or serve as a hedge against a larger bullish position elsewhere.

This report highlights large, unusual options trades identified for their size and potential impact, representing individual sentiment rather than broad market consensus. These trades are informational and are not intended as buy or sell signals. They reflect noteworthy activity observed during the trading day and should be viewed as one part of a broader analysis.

Individual Options Trades: Trading Day 2025-7-30

This section focuses on unusual trades that stand out on an individual basis. These trades are highlighted for their distinctiveness, reflecting significant activity that diverges from typical market behavior.

Estee Lauder (EL)
Sentiment: Bullish
Options Activity: A complex bullish strategy was executed involving the purchase of September 19, 2025, $95 CALLs and the sale of September 19, 2025, $95 PUTs. The trade size exceeded prior open interest, signaling new positioning.
Total Values: $2,019,600 (CALLs bought), $2,366,100 (PUTs sold)
Strike Price: $95
Analysis: With spot price at $93.28, the $95 PUTs were sold above spot, suggesting confidence that shares will remain above this level. The simultaneous call buying adds to the bullish outlook over the next 51 days to expiry. This reflects a strong conviction in a move higher or a neutral-to-bullish stance with premium collected from the puts.

Iris Energy (IREN)
Sentiment: Bullish
Options Activity: A large-scale strategy unfolded across several trades involving the purchase of March 20, 2026, $20 CALLs and the sale of $20 PUTs, all well below the spot price of $23.80. The positioning is bullish, and the put sale collected premium across multiple exchanges.
Total Values: $1,820,000 (CALLs bought), $6,982,655 (PUTs sold across all strikes)
Strike Price: $20
Analysis: With 233 days to expiry, the heavy selling of puts significantly below the spot price indicates strong confidence that the stock will remain well above the $20 level. The matching call buying supports a bullish outlook through early 2026.

NRG Energy (NRG)
Sentiment: Bullish
Options Activity: A single transaction on August 8, 2025, $165 CALLs was executed above prior open interest.
Total Values: $260,632
Strike Price: $165
Analysis: This position was initiated just 9 days to expiry and targets a price move slightly above the spot price of $165.10. Despite the tight window, the size > open interest designation suggests confidence in a short-term breakout or volatility spike.

Nutanix (NTNX)
Sentiment: Bullish
Options Activity: A trader opened a new position by purchasing September 19, 2025, $85 CALLs, exceeding prior open interest.
Total Values: $299,100
